हमारे देश में आलस्य एक महामारी की तरह फैला हुआ है। लोग आलस में बैठे रहना, हरामखोरी करते रहना, बड़प्पन इसी में मानते हैं। कि उन्हें कुछ काम करना ही नहीं पड़ता। नौकर चाकर ही सब कुछ कर के रख देते हैं। कुछ दिन पूर्व देश में राजे महाराजे जागीरदार बहुत थे। उसमें से कितने ही ऐसे थे। जिन्हें कपड़ा पहनने उतारने और जूते खोलने बांधने का काम तक नौकर करते थे। अभी भी जिनके पास जमीन जायदाद है। वे तथाकथित बड़े आदमी उसी बात में अपना गौरव समझते हैं। कि उन्हें कुछ काम नहीं करना पड़ता सारा दिन बैठ ठाले बीत जाता है। जिसके बच्चे कमाऊ हो गए हैं उनके पिता यह सोचते हैं कि उन्हें काम क्यों करना चाहिए। संत महात्मा तो यही है जो काम रत्ती भर भी ना करें। अमीर और भाग्यवान की यही परिभाषा है। "त्याग" का अर्थ ही काम धंधे की जिम्मेदारी का त्याग माना जाता है।

 जिसने अपने कंधे से सारी जिम्मेदारीयां छोड़ दी। वे लोग फिर किसी काम को करने में अपने आपको छोटा समझते हैं। 

जहां हरामी समान पाते हो, निठल्ले भग्यवान् कहलाते हो और श्रमिकों को छोटा, अभागा या अछूत समझा जाता हो वहां जितनी ही विपत्तियां आते जितनी ही अवनती देखनी पडे उतनी ही कम है। सफाई करने वाले, कपड़े धोने वाले, जूते बनाने वाले, वस्त्र सीने वाले,  सुत बुनने वाले, लुहार, ठंठरे बढई राजगीर संतराश रंगरेज आदि शिल्पी एवं श्रमिक इसलिए नीच समझे जायें कि वे कठोर श्रम करके राष्ट्र की समृद्धि में योगदान देते हैं तो यही कहना चाहिए कि ऐसे औंधी समझ के लोगों का उज्जवल भविष्य अभी बहुत दूर है।

 पूर्वी उत्तर प्रदेश का आदमी यही सोचता है, उसे ऐसी नौकरी मिले जिससे कपड़े की क्रिज खराब ना हो पावे। पंखे के नीचे बैठे-बैठे मेज-कुर्सी पर बैठे-बैठे थोड़ी कलम चलाने की नौकरी मिले चाहे पैसे ही कम मिले। सारे शिक्षक समाज की आज यही मनोवृति है। फल स्वरूप नौकरियों की खोज में हर शिक्षित युवा भटकता हुआ पाया जाता है। जबकि शिक्षा बढ़ रही है और हर शिक्षित युवा क्लर्क  की का उम्मीदवार है तो इतने क्लर्क आखिर रहेंगे कौन? सरकार के पास भी आखिर इतनी जगह कहां से आवेगी? फलत: बेकारी बुरी तरह बढ़ रही है और शिक्षा समाज के लिए एक नई मुसीबत का कारण बन रही है? गांवों में कृषि, पशु पालन,गृह, उद्योग आदि की समुचित व्यवस्था होते हुए भी पढ़े-लिखे लड़के शहरों में भाग रहे हैं। घर की खेती बर्बाद हो रही है और शहर के गंदे घरों में सड़ते हुए मुट्ठी भर पैसों की बाबू शाही नौकरी करते हुए सडां गला जीवन बिता रहे हैं। चाहे स्वास्थ्य खोना पड़े, चाहे मनोबल पर श्रम न करना पड़े। पर आराम के दिन कटते रहे भावात्मक दृष्टि से जिस समाज के लोग इतने लुंज पुंज हो गए हैं कि उनके अच्छे दिन आने में अभी बहुत देर है। यह जानना चाहिए।

 Laziness is spread like an epidemic in our country.  People believe in sitting idly, keeping haraamkhori, nobility in it.  That they don't have to do some work.  The servants keep everything after tax.  A few days ago there were many Raje Maharaja Jagirdars in the country.  How many of them were like that.  Whose servants used to wear clothes and untie them.  Those who still own land.  Those so-called big men take pride in that.  That they do not have to do anything, the whole day is spent sitting.  His father, whose children have become earning, thinks why they should work.  It is the saintly Mahatma who does not even do a lot of work.  This is the definition of rich and fortunate.  The meaning of "renunciation" is considered to be the renunciation of the responsibility of business.

 Who left all the responsibilities from his shoulder.  Those people then consider themselves small in doing any work.

 Where the bastard finds the same, the downcasts are called bhagyavans and the workers are considered small, unfortunate or untouchable.  Cleaners, laundry, shoe makers, cloth chesters, weavers, blacksmiths, cool carpenters, Rajgir Santras Rangrej, etc. The artisans and laborers should be considered low because they contribute to the prosperity of the nation by doing hard labor.  It should be noted that the bright future of such blind people is far away.

 This is what a man from eastern Uttar Pradesh thinks, he should get a job that does not spoil the clothes crease.  While sitting under the fan, sitting on the table-chair, you get a job of running a little pen, even if you get less money.  Today is the attitude of all teachers society.  As a result, every educated youth is found wandering in search of jobs.  While education is increasing and every educated youth is a candidate for clerk, who will remain so many clerks?  Where will the government also come from?  As a result, unemployment is increasing badly and education is causing a new problem for the society.  Despite proper arrangement of agriculture, animal husbandry, house, industry etc. in villages, educated boys are running into cities.  Home farming is being ruined and a handful of money rotting in the dirty houses of the city is spending its life strangling while doing royal jobs.  Even if you have to lose health, do not have to labor on morale.  But the days of rest which have been cut off from the emotional point of view, the society of which people have become so bad that it is too late for their good days to come.  It should be known.
